Hockomock Junior-9's Enjoying Success
Norfolk's Hockomock Junior-9 team has been playing great baseball all season, as evidenced by their 9-2 record, currently good enough for first place. A win over Sharon (1-9) on July 24, 2008 secures them the first or second seed and home field advantage for their first two playoff games. Should that be the case, their first
home playoff game would be on Monday, July 28th and their second home playoff game would be on Tuesday, July 29th. These games would be held at the Majors field
at the Freeman Centennial School.
The team also made it to the championship game of the recent KP Classic baseball
tournament held in Plainville. Congratulations to Rich Gray and his staff!

Article Discusses Decline of Sandlot Baseball

The article discusses the lack of the unstructured baseball games of yesteryear and it's impact on players learning the game for themselves, without a parent or coach around.
